AAID’S ACTION TOWARDS THE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
In 2015 The United Nations adopted a comprehensive universal set of values reflected in the Sustainable Development Goals to serve the best interests of the international community as part of the 2030 Agenda.
AAID accepts the SDG’s as a compass toward our mission to contribute to serve the world’s most pressing problems for response and recovery of these global objectives. This is a a global call, not only for governments, but a call to all us.
Equity and sustainability must shape our resources to make the world a more sustainable place.
Global goals come to life when treated as local goals, when continually tested against the prism and the foundations of the SDG’s.
SDG’s are deeply embedded in every facet of our mission and hence aligned with our implementation strategy.
The SDG’s call on all leadership to generate a movement, global, local and on a people level, to push for transformations. Leadership goes beyond promises and commitments. To advance the SDG’s ambitious steps - beyond promises and commitments - need to be taken to accomplish the objectives.
Consistent with the core of the SDG’s, at AAID human concerns, social and environmental concerns make progress all at once. From poverty, education, public health, crisis management, integrated water management to gender equality, green housing development and climate action, reaching the most vulnerable and marginalized communities first.
Economic opportunities relative to sustainable development must take into account “paining people into the picture”. Meet people where they are at as we are moving towards global goals, LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND.
Enhance proper community management of natural resources with emphasis on increased women participation and sustainable development.
